Our product ranges

Discover our range of sustainable polyols that will provide improved performance for a number of applications in polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam production and will help your products to become more eco-compliant

ROPET

The ROPET family of recycled and bio-based content polyols are produced from vegetable oil and post-consumer PET and are suitable for rigid polyurethane foam production. ROPET polyols can be blended with other polyols to achieve desirable polyurethane foam properties and used in systems with non-polar blowing agents.
ROPET offers material based on recycled resource, possessing good properties as a base polyol for rigid polyurethane foam insulation. ROPET can reach a competitive price target compared to petrochemical-derived polyols with similar properties.

ACTOPOL

The ACTOPOL family of bio-polyols offer high functionality bio-based polyols produced from second-generation feedstock tall oil that is a by-product in cellulose production
The ACTOPOL bio-polyol range is instrumental to the development of polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam formulations for energy-saving insulation, boardstock, insulated metal panel and appliance applications.

Polymer laboratory

Polymer laboratory of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry has been active in polyurethane chemistry and technology since 1960ies. Polymer Laboratory is the leading institution in Baltic countries in the field of polyurethanes.

Polymer laboratory has two main research directions:
Sustainable feedstock valorisation, such as bio-based streams (first, second and third generation) and waste streams (bio-based and plastic), for rigid polyurethane foam development.
Cryogenic insulation for space applications.

What we do

Polymer Laboratory of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry is specialized in the development of polyurethane materials from renewable and recycled feedstock widely available in Europe. Experienced in working with vegetable oils, lignin, pulp production by-products and recycled PET stream.
Development of polyols from various sustainable feedstocks and complete characterization using analytical and instrumental analysis methods
Development of formulations for rigid polyurethane foams and foam characterization – physical, mechanical and thermal properties
Development of cryogenic rigid polyurethane foam insulation and foam characterization – cryotests and physical, mechanical, thermal properties
